2015 Video: Radio Frequency engineering could..., Professor Danielle George

June 21, 2016

We have finally got round to making a start on editing and encoding the video from Festival Day 2015, and are excited to be able to share with you the opening keynote, from Professor Danielle George and exploring how radio frequency (RF) engineering can be used to solve many of the world's great engineering challenges.

In her talk, Danielle takes us through just a few of the amazing applications for RF engineering, including her own work on an amplifier which went into a spacecraft that picked up incredibly weak signals that originated from the Big Bang, 14 billion years ago!

Professor George was recently awarded an MBE in the 2016 Birthday Honours, for services to engineering in public engagement. We're sure to you will agree, that this was very well deserved and we'd like to take this opportunity to offer her our congratulations, and thank her once again for giving the opening keynote at Festival Day last year.
